Chilled and frozen transport from the UK to the Netherlands and Belgium

Transport and customs handled by one company. We load your goods in the United Kingdom, take care of export and import clearance ourselves, handle the crossing and deliver to the final destination in the Netherlands or Belgium. You have one dedicated point of contact and one company responsible for your goods. From a single pallet to a full trailer, at any temperature between -25°C and +25°C.

One partner for the entire journey

Shipments to or from the UK often involve several hauliers and customs agents. In practice, we see that these parties are not always well coordinated. The result: long email chains, miscommunication, delays and extra costs.

With Boom Transport, you hand over the entire journey. Our own driver loads your goods in the UK, our customs department takes care of the paperwork on both sides of the Channel and, after the crossing, we unload at the final destination in the Netherlands or Belgium. Our planning team coordinates everything from start to finish. For you, that means full visibility at all times, one phone number and one company that deals with questions and problems straight away.

Flexible transport: from a single pallet to a full load

You do not need a full load to make the crossing. As groupage specialists, we combine part loads from several shippers in one trailer. This keeps temperature-controlled transport to the Continent affordable, even if you only ship a few pallets a week.

Is your volume growing? You can easily move up to a larger regular part load or a full trailer, without having to change haulier.

Real-time insight into location and temperature

Because we run our own fleet with our own drivers, we have real-time insight into the position of the vehicle and the temperature in the load compartment. The temperature can be set remotely and is monitored throughout the journey.

A movable bulkhead allows frozen and chilled products to travel in the same trailer, each at its own temperature.

Often delivered within 48 hours, customs clearance included

We run daily services to and from the UK and cross via fast connections, such as the Channel Tunnel and various North Sea routes. This means your consignment does not sit waiting for days before departure.

In many cases, we deliver to the final destination within 48 hours of loading. The exact transit time depends on a number of factors, such as the loading and delivery locations.

BRC certified and AEO authorised

We have been certified to the BRC standard since 2013, one of the highest standards in food safety. We are also an Authorised Economic Operator (AEO).

Is your customer or an auditor asking for quality assurances? You will have them to hand straight away, with no extra work. Our AEO authorisation also means customs clearance at the border runs more smoothly.

What we carry

We specialise in temperature-controlled transport. In addition, we will in principle carry anything that travels on pallets.

Our own people, our own equipment

Boom Transport has been in business since 1922 and is run by the third and fourth generations of the family. We operate our own equipment and employ our own drivers. With a branch in Redditch, we are present on both sides of the Channel.

More than transport from A to B

Transport between the UK and the Netherlands or Belgium involves more than moving pallets. Since Brexit, customs formalities, documentation and regulations have played a part in almost every shipment.

That is why we map out the shipment with you in advance. What is being transported? Which documents are required? Which customs procedures apply? And which laws and regulations does the shipment need to comply with?

We then set up the entire process, from customs formalities and documentation to the practical arrangements around the transport. This prevents surprises, delays and unnecessary costs.

Frequently asked questions

Do you also handle customs?

Yes. We take care of export clearance on the UK side and import clearance on the EU side ourselves, and build both into the transport planning. You do not need to involve a separate party.

Who pays the import duties and customs costs?

That depends on the delivery terms (Incoterms) you have agreed with your trading partner. We submit the customs declarations and can pay any import duties and VAT on your behalf, then recharge them to you or your trading partner. We discuss this with you in advance, so there are no surprises afterwards.

Can I ship just one pallet?

Yes. We combine part loads from several shippers in one trailer, so transport from a single pallet is possible.

Which countries do you deliver to?

From the UK, we deliver to the Netherlands, Belgium and the Ruhr area in Germany. For other destinations in Europe, we work with regular partners.

Can frozen and chilled goods travel in the same load?

Yes. A movable bulkhead lets us create two compartments in one trailer, each with its own temperature, for example -20°C and +2°C.

Do you also carry goods with no temperature requirements?

Yes. Alongside chilled and frozen transport, we also carry palletised general cargo.

How long does transport take?

In many cases, we deliver within 48 hours of loading. The exact transit time depends on the loading and delivery locations. We state the expected transit time with your quote.
